MORE QUESTIONS ON HAMPDEN BRIDGE WEIGHT CHANGES

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has used Parliament to ask further questions to the NSW Minister for Transport and Roads about dramatic changes to weight restrictions on the Hampden Bridge in Kangaroo Valley which will have significant impacts on farmers, business and animal welfare.

WARD USES PARLIAMENT TO EXPOSE CFMEU BULLYING OF LOCAL BUSINESS NOWRA CRANES

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has used Parliament to expose union-bullying of Shoalhaven-based company Nowra Cranes.

Mr Ward told Parliament an employee dispute where the union demanded a cash settlement above employee entitlements, refused by the company, resulted in the CFMEU threatening to shut-down job sites that engage Nowra Cranes.

LABOR / GREENS BLOCK VOTER INTEGRITY BILL

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has condemned Labor and the Greens for joining forces to vote down voter integrity measures proposed as part of his Electoral Amendment (Voter ID and Electronic Mark-Off) Bill.

Whilst Mr Ward received support from the Coalition and Independents, Labor and Greens MPs had the numbers to vote it down.

A BRIDGE TOO FAR: WARD CALLS FOR URGENT CONSULTATION ON HAMPDEN BRIDGE LOAD LIMIT CHANGE

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has said that the Kangaroo Valley community must be consulted about Transport for NSW changes to the load limit on the Hampden Bridge which will reduce the current load limit from 42.5 tonnes to 23 tonnes.

Mr Ward moved a Notice of Motion in State Parliament today calling on the Minister to pause the change planned for 30 May this year.

Mr Ward has been joined by council and community representatives in calling for consultation.
