Independent Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today called on the Commonwealth Government to deliver on its promises for our region in the Federal Budget.
“I want to see the Commonwealth Government deliver on its promises and commitments to our region. For far too long, the State has done all the heavy lifting in our region so it will be interesting to see what is in this budget for our community.
“As the local MP, I have worked hard to secure 100% of the funding for the Gerringong upgrade, the Berry and Albion Park Rail bypasses, the Berry to Bomaderry upgrade and the Jervis Bay Road interchange. Not a cent of Commonwealth funding was provided for these projects.
“So much more can be achieved if we have a genuine partnership between State and Federal Governments.
“I also want to see the promised funds for the Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club upgrade delivered.
“I stand ready to work with all levels of government and elected representatives to keep delivering the important infrastructure our region needs and deserves but promises must be matched by action, and I look forward to seeing outcomes in tomorrow night’s budget,” Mr Ward concluded.
