STATEMENT - MANILDRA GROUP INCIDENT

As a Bomaderry resident, I am aware of an incident that took place at Manildra Group’s Bomaderry site before 11 PM last night.

Like many locals, I heard the explosion from my home.

I am advised that SafeWork NSW is investigating this matter, and I commend the company for placing its primary focus on the safety and wellbeing of its staff.

Prior to last night’s event, I had already arranged to meet with Manildra Group to discuss issues raised with me by residents.

Whilst I strongly support local businesses who generate jobs and economic growth, we also need to protect the amenity of residents who love calling Bomaderry home.
