Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today announced $25,000 funding to the Lions Club of Bomaderry Inc to purchase a used ambulance for the use of first aid at local community events.
Mr Ward joined with representatives from the Lions Club of Bomaderry Inc for the announcement.
“I am really pleased to announce this $25,000 funding which has allowed the club to purchase a used ambulance to provide first aid at local community-based events and activities.
“This should not been since as a cost to Government but rather a key investment into a local community asset which will provide real first aid support.
“I would like to thank President Bob Mortyn and Assistant Secretary Bruce Murphy from the Lions Club of Bomaderry Inc for their wonderful advocacy to help me to secure this funding which will make such a difference,” Mr Ward said.
Mr Bob Mortyn, President of the Lions Club of Bomaderry Inc said:
“This funding has allowed us to purchase a decommissioned ambulance and allowed us to get it on the road. Bomaderry Lions Club are paying for the fit out of the vehicle to meet St John’s requirements,” he said.
“We are extremely grateful for our local Member Gareth Ward and his efforts to get this funding over the line. Its great news for the local community,” Mr Mortyn said.
