Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today joined with Shellharbour Councillors and various stakeholders for the completion of the concrete slab.

Mr Ward secured $15.97 million in funding from the NSW Government’s Growing Local Economies Fund that will go a long way to boost jobs and growth throughout our region.

“I am delighted to have secured funding that will energise our local economy. This $20 million airport project by the NSW Government and Shellharbour City Council will charge economic development in the region and will continue the all-important jobs growth that we need.

“As a local MP, I know how popular our region is to live in and visit. I am proud to support Council in their development of an Aviation Economic Development Park which includes the construction of this new terminal.

“More than ever before, investments like this upgrade generate local jobs but improve regional travel to and from our region for many years to come.”

Councillor Kellie Marsh from Shellharbour City Council joined Mr Ward in congratulation the NSW Government.

“Council along with the NSW Government are continuing to deliver for our community. With our region becoming more and more attractive for people to live, work and visit it is important we have the infrastructure to support it.

“The region has needed this major upgrade of Shellharbour Airport for some time, but without this grant from Mr Ward and the NSW government this work would not be happening,” Mrs Marsh concluded.
