Albion Park Crows Junior AFL Club Receives Funding

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today announced $5,000 funding for the Albion Park Crows AFL Club for the purchase of some new jerseys.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured this funding grant from the New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian MP.

“This is really fantastic news for the Albion Park Crows AFL Club which will help towards the purchase of some new jerseys for the club,” he said.

“The Albion Park Crows AFL Club is a proud local Club and it also encourages juniors and people of all ages to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“Crows Juniors have had a very successful season with 4 teams making the finals in 2020 which is a super effort by all the kids, their coaches and managers involved with these junior teams.

“I would like to acknowledge the President George Taylor, Vice President Brad Browne, and Secretary/ Treasurer Kristy Browne for all the work they do for the Albion Park Crows AFL Club.

“And I would like to wish good luck to the Crows ahead of their Grand Final game against Wollongong Lions this weekend! Go the Mighty Crows,” Mr Ward said.

Mr Brad Browne, Vice President of the Albion Park Rail Cricket Club has also welcomed this funding announcement and said it was great news for their club.

“This funding is really great news for our Club as it has allowed us to purchase our new jerseys for our juniors,” he said.

"We are just so glad we were able to play this season, even though it was shortened and we certainly value Gareth Ward’s efforts in helping us to secure this funding – it is greatly appreciated by all of our members – so thank you Gareth.

"We look forward to continually working with Gareth and Shellharbour City Council to develop AFL in Albion Park,” Mr Browne said.
