MAJOR FUNDING BOOST FOR GERRINGONG GOLF CLUB

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today announced $50,000 funding to representatives from Gerringong Golf Club including the Club President, Mr Geoff Manning to deliver a new fuel storage and cart wash bay facility for the local golf club.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to secure this funding under the New South Wales Government’s Local Small Commitment Allocation (LSCA) Program.

“This is a great result for Gerringong. I know that this funding will make a huge difference in delivering a new fuel storage and a new environmentally friendly cart wash bay facility at Gerringong Golf Club.

“One of the things I love most about being a local MP is fighting hard for grants for local sporting clubs. Gerringong Golf Club is a great asset to our local community which attracts many locals and visitors to our region from right across our State.

“Like many of our local sporting clubs in the Kiama electorate, Gerringong Golf Club is supported by an outstanding team of volunteers and this grant is a terrific boost to their wonderful efforts to improve the course.

“My parents Margaret and Malcolm were both members of Gerringong Golf Club – Dad claims to have landed a hole-in-one on the course! Irrespective of the truth in this story, Gerringong Golf Club have brought much joy, exercise, excitement and great memories and stories,” Mr Ward concluded.

The President of Gerringong Golf Club Mr Geoff Manning also welcomed the funding.

“This is a much more environmentally friendly solution and will provide better safety for everybody associated with the club including the suppliers and the general public because it will be a State-of-the-art cart wash bay facility for safety and the environment which we are extremely pleased about,” Geoff said.

“We are also very grateful and appreciate Gareth Ward’s strong support as our local Member of Parliament for many years now and Mr Ward’s ongoing support of Gerringong Golf Club,” Mr Manning concluded.
