Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today joined with representatives from Kiama Municipal Council to officially open the completed upgrades at Hindmarsh Park in Kiama.
“I love working hard and getting things done that make a real difference for our community,” Mr Ward said.
“Since becoming your local MP, I’ve secured more than $50 million to upgrade parks, sports fields and reserves and I’m really pleased to have helped secure this major grant from the NSW Government to upgrade the facilities at Hindmarsh Park.
“Hindmarsh Park is a popular location for local families and visitors to our area. Hindmarsh Park was well overdue for a renovation and the new landscaping, native plants and new benches and platform seating look absolutely fabulous.
“As your independent MP, I enjoy working with Kiama Council and the government to get on with the job and get things done. This park upgrade is another example of what independent MPs can achieve when they work collaboratively with different lives of government.
“As your local MP, I will continue to fight to secure funding for projects which preserve our public open green spaces for families and children to enjoy. I know that the new playground and picnic areas will be hugely popular!
“I’m extremely pleased to join with the new Mayor of Kiama Cameron McDonald and I am thrilled with the final outcome – and I know that local residents and families are very happy as well,” Mr Ward concluded.
