Ward Launches Annual Christmas Toy Drive To Help Those Less Fortunate

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today launched his annual Christmas Toy Drive with the festive season nearing closer.

Mr Ward said it was an opportunity for local organisations, small businesses, community groups and local residents to help those less fortunate in our community.

“Christmas is a time of celebration and relaxing with our loved ones. Sadly however, there are still some local children and young people facing disadvantage at this special time of year,” he said.

“This Christmas Toy Drive is about coming together to help spread some Christmas joy to hundreds of disadvantaged children and young people across the Illawarra and South Coast region.

“Over the past few years, my office has been overwhelmed by the generosity of local residents and small businesses who have kindly donated a wide variety of toys and gifts, and I really hope that it can continue this Christmas.

“New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off to my Kiama electorate office at 102 Terralong Street, Kiama between now and 5pm on Thursday 19th December. If they are wrapped, please indicate if they are a boy or girl and an appropriate age range.

“All gifts donated will be provided to the Albion Park Youth and Community Care Inc. prior to Christmas Day.

“Miranda Batchelor and her team of staff and volunteers in Albion Park do a fantastic job and I certainly hope that we can make a positive impact for local families in need to make for a brighter Christmas for them.

“Let’s all come together to help spread some festive joy to those who need it most this Christmas,” Mr Ward concluded.
