Two Thumbs Up: Kiama Electorate Reaches 50% Double Dose

22 Sep 2021 covid19

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today praised the efforts of locals as residents in all Local Government Areas covering the Kiama Electorate pass the 50% double dose mark.

The COVID-19 vaccination rate update for each Local Government Area across the Kiama electorate as at 20th September 2021 (provided by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health) confirms the following:

  • Kiama LGA – 85% first dose – 60.8% fully vaccinated.
  • Shoalhaven LGA – 82.2% first dose – 54.8% fully vaccinated.
  • Shellharbour LGA – 79.3% first dose – 50.1% fully vaccinated.

“These figures are absolutely incredible and I cannot thank our local community enough for the effort they are making, turning out and getting their COVID-19 vaccines,” Mr Ward said.

“Every LGA in the region has now passed the 50% mark which is incredibly encouraging. But there is still much more to do.

“Thank you to everyone who has rolled up their sleeves and also to all our local allied health and medical professionals who are working hard to put these vaccines into arms right across the region.

“We have now got to maintain the pace and our effort because the faster we can get to the 80 per cent mark, the sooner we can have certainty and can get back to some form of normality in our daily lives,” Mr Ward said.
