THANK YOUR PHARMACIST DAY

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said that today is Thank Your Pharmacist Day.

Mr Ward said that the theme for 2025 Thank Your Pharmacist Day is: ‘Pharmacists stepping up’, acknowledging the increasing role of pharmacists in supporting patient care and strengthening Australia’s healthcare system.

“Our local pharmacists should be thanked every day, but 13th March encourages everybody to celebrate Australia’s 40,000 pharmacists by saying thanks,” he said.

“From supporting patients with medicine use to lifesaving interventions, pharmacists are stepping up to meet the growing demands of our healthcare system.

“Did you know that pharmacists practise across our health system, from local community pharmacies, to hospitals, aged care facilities, and General Practices.

“Across all areas of practice, pharmacists are championing Quality Use of Medicines and medicine safety,” Mr Ward said.

“Today is important to highlight the critical role that our local pharmacists play and to understand how supporting pharmacists means better healthcare access.

“As your local State MP, I’ll continue to fight to strengthen our local pharmacists role in our healthcare system and the many benefits they provide for our region,” Mr Ward concluded.
