Statement: Shoalhaven Heads

Shoalhaven Heads must be opened to the ocean to protect at-risk homes.

Life and property come first.

I have been in constant contact with the Minister for Emergency Services and her office to seek every assistance possible.

This afternoon, I have met with the CEO of Shoalhaven Council, senior Council staff and Councillor John Wells.

I can advise that Council will be opening Shoalhaven Heads to the ocean at the earliest opportunity. Due to current tidal conditions, this work will take place tomorrow morning.

My sincere thanks to Shoalhaven City Council for working with me to assist local residents.
