Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today presented one of the Premier’s Volunteer Recognition Awards to local Kiama resident Rosalie Dawne for her volunteering efforts and tireless commitment to our local community.
Mr Ward made the announcement this morning during a special presentation at the Joyce Wheatley Community Centre in Hindmarsh Park, Kiama, with Rosalie’s colleagues from Blue Haven Care including Volunteer Coordinator Myriam Marchant.
“Rosalie has received this Award from the Premier for her distinguished contribution as a Blue Haven volunteer and also a Blue Haven Care Community Services volunteer,” he said.
“We are so fortunate to live in a community with such a vast array of volunteers, from our emergency services volunteers with RFS and SES, our Blue Haven Care Community Services volunteers like Rosalie, to our service club volunteers in Kiama Rotary Club and Kiama Lions Club.
“We are just so very blessed to have these unsung heroes in our local communities.
“Volunteers like Rosalie don’t ever go searching for any form of recognition, but that does not make them any less deserving. Rosalie has spent many years assisting and helping others in need and we really appreciate her amazing contribution.
“This commemorative certificate is a very small way of us saying thank you to Kiama resident Rosalie Dawne for her outstanding and ongoing contribution to our local community,” Mr Ward concluded.
