Roger Tilley Receives Premier's Community Service Award

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has presented a Premier’s Community Service Award to Roger Tilley of Shoalhaven Heads. The Premier’s Award is only given to two local residents in the Kiama electorate every year.

Mr Ward, who joined with the Premier Gladys Berejiklian MP and Mr Tilley in NSW Parliament House for the special presentation, said that Mr Tilley has received this prestigious Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to our local Shoalhaven Heads community over so many years.

“Roger is a real unsung hero after so many years of dedicated community involvement and services at Shoalhaven Heads, most notably for his work with Rob Stewart to establish the Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Gardens,” he said.

“I remember working with Roger when I was on Council to help him realise his dream for a great community asset. Over the years I have enjoyed watching Roger’s diligence and dedication to everyone around him.

“Mr Tilley is a well-known and respected local identity who has given much of his time in the pursuit of assisting others and helping to deliver a legacy of service.

“Roger Tilley is a very worthy receipt of the Premier’s Community Service Award. His work is an example to others of service above self,” Mr Ward concluded.
