Oppose the Illawarra Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) & Deny Social License

Please find enclosed with this email a letter from The Hon Penny Sharpe MLC responding to a petition I lodged on behalf of residents of our region opposing the Australian Government’s proposed Illawarra offshore windfarm.

This letter confirms the NSW Government’s support for the project.

I remain opposed to the project based on CSIRO analysis that offshore wind is several times more expensive than onshore wind. I reiterate my concerns about the impacts on migratory species and my concerns that none of the project appears to involve locally manufactured components.
