JERVIS BAY ROAD INTERCHANGE FEBRUARY UPDATE

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward says that progress on the Jervis Bay Road Interchange is progressing well, with significant construction activities continuing throughout February.

The Jervis Bay Road Interchange is a critical project that will improve safety and efficiency on the Princes Highway, with more than $2 billion invested in highway upgrades from Albion Park Rail to Jervis Bay Road.

STATEMENT: STEPHEN JONES RETIREMENT

On behalf of our community, I take this opportunity to thank Stephen Jones, Member for Whitlam, for his service to our community.

While Stephen and I have different views on many things, we have always worked together in the service of our mutual constituents.

I wish him well in the next chapter of his life.

LABOR’S CON-JOB

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has welcomed the news that inmates at the South Coast Correctional Centre will be working at the Foton Mobility bus assembly plant in Nowra.

However, Mr Ward has slammed Labor’s pre-election promise to promote manufacturing jobs in NSW given that these buses will only be assembled, and not manufactured in the region.

BERRY HOTEL DA REFUSED BY LAND AND ENVIRONMENT COURT

Yesterday, I joined members of the Berry Forum at the Land and Environment Court concerning the Feros Group’s application to redevelop the Berry Hotel.

From day 1, I have opposed this application on the basis that this was an overdevelopment of the site, an erosion of local heritage, a lack of adequate parking and lack of architectural merit.

UNACCEPTABLE, MINISTER

Following feedback from parents after demountable were replaced at Cambewarra Public School due to mould and safety concerns, Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward asked the Minister for Education and Early Learning a Question on Notice in order to raise serious questions about education infrastructure.
