Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today joined with the Mayor of Kiama Mark Honey and representatives from local Jamberoo sporting clubs to announce $1,088,528 funding for the Jamberoo Sporting Precinct upgrade, under the New South Wales Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured funding for this major project in Jamberoo.

“I am delighted that the facilities at Jamberoo’s primary sporting location, the Jamberoo Sporting Precinct, will be upgraded,” he said.

“This location serves as the home ground of the Jamberoo Superoos Rugby League Football Club and also home of the Jamberoo Bulls Cricket Club.

“The extensive refurbishment and additional amenities will aim to improve disability accessibility, increase sports participation, increase sporting event capacity, and improve user experience.

“The improvements are expected to increase club participation and team morale with upgraded change rooms, new storage, and a fully compliant canteen.

“These changes will transform the currently inadequate facilities, which do not accommodate all the various visitors to the Precinct.

“The Jamberoo Sporting Precinct upgrade will create a facility that can attract and host regional, State and National Championship competitions, and professional sporting matches in the future.

“Various sporting and community groups have expressed and offered letters of support for the facilities to be upgraded.

“I am very pleased to be here today to announce the funding for the Jamberoo Sporting Precinct upgrade and I look forward to seeing the finished product,” Mr Ward concluded.
