The NSW Government has today announced a new location for NSW’s world class cycling event, L’Etape, which will be hosted in the rolling coastal region of Kiama in 2020, following four successful years in the Snowy Mountains.
Just as the Tour de France and its public participation event L’Etape du Tour move location regularly, Australia’s slice of the world’s greatest cycling race will continue to share the benefits throughout different regions of the State.
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said todays announcement was a shot in the arm for our local tourism economy.
“I am always fighting for events to come to our area. Everything from the Kiama Bodyboard King Pro to the upcoming Australia v New Zealand Rugby League double-header – all of these events have been supported by me as the local member – and backed by the NSW Government.”
“We’re delighted to welcome this iconic race to our region in 2020. Events such as L’Etape help the NSW Government achieve its goal of reaching $55 billion in overnight visitor expenditure by 2030.”
“L’Étape Australia will also be in the beautiful Snowy Mountains for the fourth consecutive year. The local community will be ready to give participants a big send off in November.”
This year’s L’Étape Australia will take place on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November, 2019.
L’Étape Australia is supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW. For more information on L’Étape Australia, visit www.letapeaustralia.com.
