Member for Kiama Gareth Ward and Jamberoo Car Show and Family Day confirm that after a three year hiatus, the show is on again, following strong advocacy from the Committee and support from Boral.
The event raises funds for the Jamberoo Rural Fire Brigade and has been a popular event since its small beginnings just a few years ago.
This year’s Show will be held at Kevin Walsh Oval in Jamberoo, with approximately 500 classic cars on display, modern and vintage fire trucks and stationary engine displays.
The Show will have plenty to offer for children, including a jumping castle, face painting, animal nursery and pony rides. And of course, there will be a range of food and drink vendors on site catering to every taste.
The Show is a key part of what has been called the Jamberoo Big Weekend. The Jamberoo Village Markets will be held in conjunction with the Car show for those looking for retail therapy, Jamberoo JAM street festival, Illawarra and Shoalhaven Festival of Roses and St Matthew’s Church Annual Book Fair will also run across the entire weekend, and local businesses will be gearing up to welcome visitors (1).
The event will be held on Sunday 27 October.
Quotes attributable to Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward:
“The Jamberoo Car Show and Family Day is an example of how this community gets together to share interests and passions whilst doing good, this year raising money for the Jamberoo Rural Fire Brigade.
“I have been discussing how we can get this event back up and running with the Show’s Committee and Boral, who have come to the table and generously provided a three-year sponsorship to ensure the show can continue into the future.
“It’s great to see Boral giving back to the community and also contributing to the show, bringing some serious vehicles in and sharing their knowledge and skills in safety.
“I look forward to seeing you on the day. If the last event is anything to go by, I expect a great turnout from locals and tourists.
“This is great news for Jamberoo and the community. I commend Boral and the Committee for their contributions to the community and this good cause.
“I encourage anyone else who wants to assist to consider contributing to the show. I know the Bugle have already offered to advertise the event and it’s just great to see this community work hard and get results!”
Quotes attributable to Executive General Manager, Concrete and Quarries NSW, Lloyd Wallace:
“Boral is pleased to be providing sponsorship for the Jamberoo Car Show over the next three years to help raise funds for the Rural Fire Brigade. As part of our commitment to road safety and Zero Harm we will be bringing some of our heavy vehicles to the show to talk about the risks and considerations when sharing the road with trucks.
“Boral, as one of the largest suppliers of construction materials in the country, has a large heavy vehicle footprint to support deliveries for our customers around Australia. Come and speak with our drivers and also jump into the cabin to learn first-hand about truck blind spots and stopping speeds.
“The Boral team looks forward to seeing you on Sunday 27 October!”
Quotes attributable to Committee Member, Steve Whitworth:
“Jamberoo Car Show & Family Day are delighted to partner with Boral as a major sponsor over the next 3 years.
“The Show enjoys incredible support from classic vehicle enthusiasts, our supporters, the local community and, of course, our amazing team of volunteers.
“We strive to deliver an interesting, fun and safe environment for everyone which provides an opportunity for classic vehicle owners to share their love of motoring history. Visitors enjoy the wonderful backdrop of Jamberoo’s rural outlook, Kiama’s broader appeal, as well as have the opportunity to support local businesses and our generous sponsors.
“In addition to a display of over 500 classic vehicles, the Show will include a display from NSW Police and Fire & Rescue, as well as the opportunity for children to sit in a Boral cement truck. Show favourites, the children’s farmyard & bouncy castle, will also be returning along with live music and various food & drink outlets. Look out for Jamberoo Valley Meat’s special ‘Show Sausage’!
“The benefits of such a positive community event cannot be underestimated. Our partnership with Boral draws on their historical connection with and commitment to our region, and further enhances our values of community spirit, teamwork, shared ambition and respect for all.”
