Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today presented funding to the Cambewarra School of Arts Association Inc to go towards refurbishing the tennis court fencing, installing storm water drainage and adding child safety fencing to comply with health and safety requirements as premises used by a local mobile preschool.
Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to be able to secure this funding under the New South Wales Government’s Community Building Partnerships program.
“I am extremely pleased to have secured this funding for the Cambewarra School of Arts Association. Ever since my election in 2011, I have enjoyed working closely with the Association and the Cambewarra community more broadly,” he said.
“I love getting things done for our community and I want to thank all those who signed the petition to help me make the strongest possible case for these important funds.
“The Cambewarra School of Arts has been serving the community for 143 years. It was first opened in 1879 and is used for so many local community activities and events.
“The local Cambewarra community doesn’t ask for much – and I’m always happy to help local community groups who need that little bit of extra support.
“I would like to acknowledge Mr Chris Thaler, Trustee and Public Officer from the Cambewarra School of Arts Association and the incredible group of members and volunteers for advocating for this funding and for helping to organise this visit and announcement today,” Mr Ward said.
