Member for Kiama Gareth Ward is reminding local residents across the Kiama electorate to please turn their clocks back one hour for the conclusion of daylight saving, which is set to end this Sunday 6th April 2025.
Mr Ward is also encouraging local residents to upgrade their clocks along with other important household items.
“I encourage households to replace their batteries in all smoke alarms, and inspecting heaters for any damage before they boot up for the winter months ahead,” he said.
“Daylight saving ends officially at 3am this Sunday, 6th April, when clocks go back an hour to 2am.
“Most internet connected, and iPhone devices will update automatically, but for manual clocks don’t forget to make the adjustment.
“The return to standard time will enable early risers, morning joggers, dog walkers and shift workers to make the most of natural light as the days shorten with the change of season.
“Daylight saving starts on the first Sunday in October each year, and finishes on the first Sunday in April.
“Daylight Saving Time is legislated in NSW under the Standard Time Act 1987 and applies to the whole of the State; with Broken Hill and Lord Howe Island in different time zones,”
