Croome road temporarily closed for road resurfacing work

Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today advised local motorists of changed traffic conditions early next month on Croome Road for road resurfacing work.

Mr Ward said that resurfacing work will be carried out as part of work to build the right turn lane at the Croome Road Sporting Complex.

“Croome Road will be closed between the East-West Link and Ashburton Drive at Albion Park from 7am to 5pm on Monday 9th July, weather permitting,” he said.

“During the closure, light vehicles will be detoured via Croome Road, Tongarra Road, Ashburton Drive and Terry Street which will add up to 10 minutes in additional travel time.

“Heavy vehicles will be detoured via East West Link, Princes Highway and Tongarra Road as Croome Road has a 4.5 tonne load limit. The heavy vehicle detour will also add up to 10 minutes in additional travel time.

“Those who ride horses along Croome Road will be able to access their properties during the closure. Both lanes will be reopened to traffic outside of working hours.

“Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, plan ahead and follow the direction of signs and traffic controllers.

“I thank local motorists for their patience during this time,” Mr Ward concluded.
