BUTLER’S BREATHTAKING HOUSING HYPOCRISY

11 Feb 2025 Housing Liza Butler

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has called out Member for South Coast Liza Butler for astonishing hypocrisy in Parliament. Today, the Member for South Coast asked a question of the Planning Minister about housing affordability whilst running a petition in her electorate against more homes.

Ms Butler's Facebook post can be found here.

Mr Ward also pointed out that whilst a new affordable housing project has been announced for his community in Bomaderry, Ms Butler hasn't announced any projects in her electorate.

“Labor’s Liza is a B.A.N.A.N.A - build absolutely nothing, anywhere near anyone! Whilst this government talks a lot about more housing, it seems they want it in everyone else's backyard - just not in their own.

“Labor's Liza votes one way in Macquarie Street but does another thing in her electorate.

“Whilst NSW Labor talk about housing affordability, NSW Labor is failing to hit every single housing delivery target they set form themselves.

“Labor's Liza promised a lot of things during the election but there is still no maternity unit at Milton Hospital, there is still no start on the Milton-Ulladulla Bypass and there is no start-date for the East Nowra Sub-Arterial – all things that would assist with housing growth.

“Labor's Liza promises a lot. But when it comes to housing, she’s all talk and against any action,” Mr Ward concluded.
