Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today announced funding for the North Nowra-Cambewarra Cricket Club for the purchase of some new equipment.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured this funding from the New South Wales Government.

“This is really fantastic news for the North Nowra-Cambewarra Cricket Club which will help towards the purchase of a cricket cover and trailer,” he said.

“The North Nowra-Cambewarra Cricket Club is a proud local Club with a great history and it also encourages people of all ages to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“To be clear, this isn’t an election commitment – its funding I’m delivering as the local MP, as I do every day for local community groups across our region,” Mr Ward said.

Mrs Emma Wood, Treasurer of the North Nowra-Cambewarra Cricket Club also welcomed the funding announcement and said it was welcome news for their Club.

“The new pitch covers and a trolley will enable our Club to provide a well prepared turf wicket that meets the standards of Cricket Australia,” she said.

“We will be able to play more local matches during times of wet weather and will meet the requirements to bring regional matches to the Shoalhaven.

“The Club is looking forward to working with Shoalhaven City Council and the NSW Government on other projects to upgrade necessary equipment and facilities at our grounds at Bernie Regan Sporting Complex and at Ray Aboud Village Green in Cambewarra Village.

“We certainly do really appreciate Gareth Ward’s efforts in helping our Club to secure this funding which will make such a positive difference for us,” Mrs Wood concluded.
