Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today announced funding for Jamberoo Tennis Club to help upgrade their facilities.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured this funding from the New South Wales Government.

“This is really fantastic news for the Jamberoo Tennis Club which will help towards upgrading the surface of Court 2 Kevin Walsh Oval,” he said.

“Jamberoo Tennis Club is a great community hub of activity and also encourages people of all ages to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“To be clear, this isn’t an election commitment – its funding I’m delivering as the local MP, as I do every day for local community groups across our community,” Mr Ward said.

Mr Ross Douglas, President of the Jamberoo Tennis Club, has also welcomed the funding announcement and said it was welcome news for their club.

“The club has been fundraising and seeking Government grant assistance for some time to replace the synthetic grass surface of one of our courts,” he said.

“We are very pleased with the new court surface which improves the safety and functionality of our facility.

“Jamberoo Tennis Club thanks our local Member Gareth Ward for his valued assistance over an extended period to help us to secure this grant,” Mr Douglas concluded.
