Yesterday, I joined members of the Berry Forum at the Land and Environment Court concerning the Feros Group’s application to redevelop the Berry Hotel.
From day 1, I have opposed this application on the basis that this was an overdevelopment of the site, an erosion of local heritage, a lack of adequate parking and lack of architectural merit.
Today I can advise that the Land and Environment Court have refused Feros Group’s development application.
While I don’t oppose improvements to the Berry Hotel, this application fell short of standards and expectations of appropriate development in Berry.
I look forward to reading the Commissioner’s detailed decision later today.
