$20,000 Funding Boost For KISS Arts Festival In Kiama In 2019

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today presented $20,000 funding for the annual KISS Arts Festival in Kiama in April 2019 under the New South Wales Government’s Round One of the Flagship Events Program.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured this funding for the KISS Arts Festival from 27th-28th April 2019 at Black Beach in Kiama.

“I am very pleased to be able to support the KISS Arts Festival again in 2019,” he said.

“I would like to acknowledge and thank Tamara Campbell and Dave Evans who do such as tremendous job with this annual Festival of fun.

“They were both also nominated and received Awards at my annual Kiama Electorate Community Recognition Awards ceremony back in October.

“The KISS Arts Festival is a great tourism draw card for our region bringing tourists to our Kiama township from Canberra and Sydney. I strongly believe that Government must value and support arts and culture – particularly when it relates to giving local young people an opportunity to demonstrate and share their talents.

Artistic Director of the KISS Arts Festival Tamara Campbell said: “This funding will allow us to expand our audience, advertise and market the Festival further afield with a PR and marketing person to really promote the different events,” she said.

“It will allow us to build more of a larger following which is really fantastic. The Festival will be held at Black Beach in Kiama from 27th-28th April 2019 with International entertainment, National performers, circus workshops, live shows and interactive visual arts activities for young people and families.

“The slogan for 2019 is “Be Part of the Fun”. We would like to acknowledge our local Member Gareth Ward for his ongoing support of our KISS Arts Festival,” Mrs Campbell said.
