Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has today presented $20,000 funding to representatives from the 2019 South Coast Food and Wine Festival under Round Two of the NSW Government's 2019 Incubator Fund, during a visit to the Berry Showground Pavilion.

Mr Ward said that he was extremely pleased to have secured this $20,000 funding from the NSW Government.

“This is really fantastic news for our region because the 2019 South Coast Food and Wine Festival will bring tourism and investment to the South Coast and provide a real boost to our local economy,” he said.

“I am very pleased to be supporting this Festival from Friday 13th September to Sunday 15th September 2019, which will celebrate all things good about food and wine from the South Coast of NSW.

“With award winning local wineries, world class seafood and incredible dairy products, the South Coast is home to some of the best food growers, farmers and producers in the world – and this Festival will also attract both locals and new visitors into our region which is very welcome news,” Mr Ward concluded.

Mr Sam Tooley, Managing Director of the South Coast Food and Wine Festival has also welcomed the funding announcement and said that it was great news for our South Coast region.

“With the quality of produce in the region and the combined skills of the farmers, producers, chefs and restauranteurs we are really looking forward to showcasing them at an event dedicated to the South Coast,” he said.

“If you like wine, beer, cheese and oysters we look forward to seeing you in September.

“We are excited to be working with some of the most iconic tourism and hospitality providers in Southern NSW with the likes of Biota Dining winning 2 Chef hats and Rick Stein at Bannisters Mollymook bringing the ‘wow’ factor to the event.

“We would like to thank the teams at Destination Sydney Surrounds South and Shoalhaven Tourism for their assistance in preparing the application.

“Additionally the support from Member for Kiama Gareth Ward, Shoalhaven Council and Destination Kiama has been invaluable,” Mr Tooley said.
