Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has called on Minister for the Illawarra and South Coast Ryan Park to stop dodging the Berry community and show up to the next public meeting on David Berry Hospital later this month.

The Government is due to release a survey on the future of David Berry Hospital next week.

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has announced a major grant has been awarded to Crooked River Wines to promote their annual Winter Wine Festival. Crooked River as part of Destination NSW Regional Event Fund’s Flagship Funding.

An event that has attracted thousands of tourists to the region every June Long Weekend since 2018, the funding will assist with advertising and promoting the event to new markets.

WARD AND TATRAI LAUNCH PETITION FOR TAXI SUBSIDY TRIAL

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward and candidate for Kiama Council Yasmin Tatrai have launched a petition calling on the NSW Government to support and fund a trial that could see taxi’s return to the Kiama Municipality.

Illawarra Taxi Network have offered to locate two cabs on a trial basis in Kiama, but the company are requesting government support to underwrite the trial.

Mr Ward wrote to the NSW Government requesting support but at this point the government is unwilling to back a trail.
