WARD ACCUSES PREMIER OF PUNISHING THE VOTERS OF THE KIAMA ELECTORATE FOR NOT VOTING LABOR

21 Mar 2024

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today said that the NSW Labor Premier and his government are punishing people in the Kiama Electorate for not voting Labor.

“In Question Time today, I asked the Premier to comment on his governments cuts to our electorate. He refused to answer,” Mr Ward said.

“Since coming to government 12 months ago, NSW Labor has cut the Toolijooa Passing Loop Rail project, they’ve cut class places in accelerated learning classes at Illaroo Road Public School, they have left ambulance stations unmanned and they’re planning to sell off David Berry Hospital.

“This is a Premier that is only interested in Sydney and his government’s cuts to our electorate are proof positive.

“What’s worse, Labor have tried to take credit for projects they had nothing to do with.

“From their shameless photo-op out the front of Shellharbour Hospital with Labor council candidates, through to re-turning a sod on the Shoalhaven Hospital re-development, this is a government that is all spin and no substance.

“The Premier’s childish approach to me and the people of our electorate is arrogance writ‑large. It is completely and totally unacceptable,” Mr Ward concluded.
